9/12 in the History of the Beatles

This is a daily chronological account of The Beatles - an interesting factoid or two. Since we also play selections from the solo members dates of interest for them are included.

September 12th in 1965 - The band appears on the Ed Sullivan show live for the last time.  Actually while they were playing in front of his audience, this show was recorded live from the previous month.  I can't find proof of this, but I  surmise it was done to take advantage of a ratings sweep period that would not have been in effect in August.  It worked, the appearance was watched by over half of all TV viewers that evening!   In 1977 - Linda gives birth to a boy. The happy couple names him James, after Paul's real 1st name.   ***VIDEO: James performing with a band. Don't expect Paul and you'll hear a lot of Grunge in the voice of James. It's no surprise he was influenced by those Seattle bands.  Watch it twice HERE, and the second time don't look at the video, maybe read the comments though most of those are misguided.
