Last week, we reported on former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley saying he thought the band's attempt at continuing as avatars looked like it was "geared towards children.
"I think the whole thing's pretty silly. And it's definitely not real rock and roll."
Now, footage of Gene Simmons talking about it has surfaced on YouTube, and, you have to wonder if he feels the same way.
While signing the last bass he played on the band's End of the Road tour in New York, just days after the Madison Square Garden show, he asked the buyer, Gino Gargiulo, what he thought of the avatars shown on screen at the Garden. He then said, "They're gonna get better, that animated stuff.
"There's so much being planned, even beyond my comprehension. But they're spending, oh, about $200 million to take it to the next level."
The folks behind the production are the same ones responsible for the ABBA avatar show in London, Voyage, to which Simmons said, "You can't tell if they're there, right there."
No word on when the KISS avatar show will debut.
