A Florida woman jumped off of a pier in order to avoid police after being caught having sex in public.

Allyssia Razo, 20, and Zadok Westfield, 23, were charged with trespassing and disturbing police after being caught in flagrante on a public pier in Naples on Monday (May 27), the New York Post reports. Razo attempted to dive into the water and swim to evade police, which led to an additional charge of resisting arrest without violence.

The Naples Police Department received multiple reports of a man and woman having sex behind the pier's locked gate at around 4:30 p.m. on Memorial Day. Both suspects scrambled to put on their clothes upon being caught by police before Razo moved to the edge of the pier and, despite officer's demanding she stay in the same location, jumped into the water.

Westfield remained at the scene and told the responding officers that he and Razo swam to the end of the pier and planned to jump off but instead decided to have sex. A witness told police she and her four children, ages 7 to 15, were at the beach when they spotted to people naked in public, at which point, "her minor children were asking questions about what the subjects were doing."

Both suspects were taken to Collier County Jail and released that same day.
