A Seattle Corvette driver shot two alleged carjackers in Belltown on Sunday morning (November 9). The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on First Avenue when the driver, a licensed gun owner, parked his sports car. According to the police, a white sedan with four masked individuals approached him. After a brief exchange, two of the men, armed with guns, attempted to steal the Corvette.

Fearing for his safety, the driver fired multiple rounds, hitting one suspect. Officers arrived to find one suspect, a 14-year-old male, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition and remains under armed guard. The other suspects fled but later dropped off a second suspect, a 20-year-old male, at the same hospital, also with gunshot wounds. He is in serious condition and under armed guard as well.

The Seattle police detained the Corvette driver for questioning and seized his firearm for evidence. After questioning, they released him. The investigation is ongoing, led by the Robbery Unit. According to Seattle law, individuals cannot be prosecuted for reasonably defending themselves or their property from violent crime or imminent danger. Carjacking in Seattle carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison, and using a firearm during such a crime results in a mandatory minimum of seven years in prison.
