He called my name as I walked by. I was surprised so I stopped to say hello and help him out with a little cash. "He told me a story, how he was at the launch of the Van Halen 1995 Balance tour in Pensacola, Florida. He told me what I was wearing that night, things I said. Remembered comedian Jon Stewart introducing us. This man was intelligent, kind, spiritual, and elegant.

"We talked for a while, and it was enlightening for me to realize how many people like him, families, etc., that have become homeless. I can see it. I just don't know what to do about it."

Hagar's post touched many of his fans and he noticed, saying, "When I posted this, I had no idea it would get this kind of response! It makes me feel so hopeful to have so many people respond to a small act of kindness! The world can use a little more of this. Thank you."

SPRINGSTEEN, STIPE & SMITH: Come Together for Democracy

Bruce Springsteen warmed up for his performance of "Streets of Minneapolis" this Saturday at a No Kings rally at the state capital in St. Paul, Minnesota by performing the song Monday night. He sang it at Democracy Now!’s 30th anniversary event at Riverside Church in New York City. Before performing, he made a statement about the song. Also performing Monday night was R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, who was joined by The National’s Aaron Dessner on “No Time for Love Like Now,” which Stipe originally recorded with Big Red Machine. AEROSMITH: Sweet Emotion of Music

Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton, while promoting the self-titled debut album by his new band, Close Enemies, took part in Spin's "5 Albums I Can't Live Without" feature. He says, "My current music collection has a lot of Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, The Who, pretty much what you’d expect, but also U2 and The Police. And a little bit of John Barry and Moby Grape." Asked what his preferred format is for listening, he said, "I don’t really have a preference, but I guess I’d have to say CDs, the way they were when they first came out in what were called a jewel box. But I’m addicted to convenience, so streaming is a close second." And with that, the five albums Tom Hamilton can't live without are:

1.The Beatles a.k.a. "The White Album": "It has 'Dear Prudence,' which is one of my all-time favorite songs. My daughter and I danced to it at her wedding."

2.Now! - The Rolling Stones: "One of their earliest records. It was raw and had an almost crude quality to it. I don’t know why that appealed to me. For all the glitz and glamour those guys have their blues roots intact. They are true blues nerds and I mean that as a compliment."

3.Led Zeppelin: "That record changed the way records were made. For years every rock band wanted their records to sound that powerful. You could actually hear the bass for the first time!"

4.Live at Leeds - The Who: "That band on this record was like listening to a freight train about to leave the rails at any moment, yet every move was tight and precise. A real jaw-dropper!"

5.Zenyatta Mondatta - The Police: (While Tom noted that it was their first album, it was their third.) "What an amazing combination of songs and musical styles. Sting wrote the songs but the combination of Stewart Copeland’s drumming, Andy Summers’ guitar sounds, and Sting’s vocal and bass sounds added up to something totally unique to this day."
