The band formed in Oregon in 1991. They had their 1st big hit four years later with "Santa Monica" (Watch the World Die)
"Father of Mine" is an autobiographical song for lead singer Art Alexakis as his father left the family home when Art was a young boy.
"Wonderful" is the highest charting song to date, coming in at #11 in the Top 100 in 2000.
If you saw the movie American Pie (and who didn't?) you heard this song: "Everything to Everyone" played in the film.
"I Will Buy You a New Life" was on the 1997 album 'So Much For the Afterglow.'
The song "Be Careful What You Ask For" did not chart, but it's my personal fave and worth a listen. It was released just a few years ago.
And finally one of the most unusual versions of Brown Eyed Girl you'll ever see
I found an old Live version from the band doing Tom Petty on TV. This is before Art found his style.
