10/7 in the History of the Beatles

This is a daily chronological account of The Beatles - an interesting factoid or two. Since we also play selections from the solo members dates of interest for them are included.

October 7th in 1967 - The group declines an offer of one million dollars by promoter Sid Bernstein to play Shea Stadium again. (Their 1st show there, two years earlier was the biggest audience ever to witness a Beatles concert.) The  band had already decided, and were sticking to their guns...no more touring. People took note when they turned down this fortune for one more performance.  And there never was another show...for a paying audience.  Rooftop at Apple being final one in public '69
