ERIC CLAPTON: Coldhand on “Turkey”

According to Rick Nielsen, when he and now former Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos were in the studio with John Lennon in August 1980, the Beatle paid him a big compliment during the recording of "I'm Losing You."

"When I was doing the guitar bits in there, 'cause I really heavied it up, he said to Bun E. and to [producer]Jack[Douglas] and toYoko, 'I wish I would had Rick on 'Cold Turkey.' He says, '[Eric]Clapton froze.' What a compliment."

Unfortunately, "I'm Losing You" with Rick and Bun E. didn't make it ontoDouble Fantasy, but was included on 1998’sJohn Lennon Anthologybox set.

Cheap Trick did cover "Cold Turkey" for the 1995 Lennon tribute album,Working Class Hero. And, they do Lennon's "Gimme Some Truth" on their new album,In Another World, which will be out on April 9th.
