Hi, Marc Coppola here, and earlier this year I found my Wikipedia page and some of the Coppola Family Tree up for deletion by some incredibly nasty freelance editors who threatened anyone who was trying to restore the page that they would risk permanent banning from the site. And then we were all asked on a regular basis to donate money to SAVE Wikipedia. I'm not saying it was any form of blackmail, but it sure seemed personal (the deletion) and wreaked of hijacking! And why would you try to delete me and some others from our family tree as well as zero in on my radio career too? Maybe a kind editor out there can help restore all this. -Cope
Awhile back there was a podcast called OVERSHADOWED that thought I would be a great topic to cover. So I called them out about it and said
if you're gonna talk about me (the oldest male of the 3rd generation of the Hollywood Coppola family and future patriarch, Francis is currently the patriarch, and we hope he is for a very long time. Uncle Anton (Kiki), previous patriarch, lived til 103) PLEASE GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!
Anyway, here's a replay of when they came to Q104.3 FM and iHeart Radio studios to ask me real questions AND GET THE FACTS Just the facts.
By this point I really needed their help over at OVERSHADOWED, because someone thought it would be funny to (Wikipedia anybody can be editors) to delete me and several other family members that they deemed NOT NOTABLE ENOUGH to be included in our Coppola family tree. So they started a campaign to delete me and mine from Wikipedia, and while they were doing that they also decided to delete me from New York City radio after an almost 50 year career. The other disc jockeys and radio personalities all still have their Wikipedia pages. Now, what really pissed me off was that after I was deleted, the folks around WIKI started asking me and several others to donate money to keep them going! Not funny! I now use exclusively ALCHETRON as they at least kept my page up and running. Goodbye Wiki! If you're asking everyone to donate, I have NO idea how long you'll actually be around.
